Most of the major ones are just as trashy. I don’t think they are really health magazines. I think they’re glamour magazines in health magazine’s clothing.

For example, while sitting in the dining hall today, watching the basketball playoffs, I accidentally saw a Budweiser ad. It was part of the show, otherwise I would have been looking at my plate. Anyway, the new slogan for Budweiser is, “This is beer.” I believe this is a reflection on the expectations of the people. After all, why give the people quality they don’t want, expect or care about?

Speaking of glamour mags and technical blogs, you could draw the same comparison to glamour mags and healthy magazines (yoga, etc). The healthy magazines are not much better, they just target a different audience. They still give you 100 yoga tips, 10 new healthy ways to hate soy products, etc.
