The simplicity of microformats and those who actually write and/or use them at this point is a relatively shrewd and saavy crew who is typically well aware and versed in semantics and standards, and the effects and consequences the lack of or presence of yields.

Yes, I have had some of the same concerns you present here – but I don’t think that it can hurt anything by moving forward with them now. They have proven to be a useful feature to many, including myself.

I am excited to see the future of microformats and how people will use them.

This post, though a long read, was well worth the read and knowledge presented.
