My impression is they don't like it either, but are partially or wholly locked in now. One practical problem with this is it makes it very difficult for the community to contribute or get involved at the level they'd like, because the "free" BitKeeper client is intentionally crippled. Is software truly Free if its source repository is encumbered like this? I think so; but it places a heavy burden on MySQL.

That's crazy that MySQL would still use BitKeeper after what happened with the Linux kernel development. I mean, really dumbfounding.

I agree with you Baron: "To choose non-Free software is to choose to be a victim." I would think the developers of Free Software would also agree, and maybe they'll change their minds someday.

When you brought it up, what was the response?

Whoops! I had the lunch menu in my notes but forgot to include it. Kung Pao Tofu, glass noodle salad, and vegetable spring rolls. :o)

Thanks for the great updates, and for the high level perspectives.

How come day two didn't include review of lunch selections?
