When I contacted the ACM, they responded quickly, personally, and frankly. They apologized, admitted that there were some internal coordination problems that resulted in a poor marketing/contact outsourcing decision, and said that they were making some significant back-end changes to make sure that it wouldn’t happen again. So far, it hasn’t.

It shows how differently kids see the world.

When I was young my dad subscribed to a sports magazine in my twin brother’s name though it was really for both my brother and I. Apparently he started getting a lot of mail and I was jealous that I never got mail.

My dad’s solution was to subscribe to another magazine in my name. Then we both received mail.

I guess at some point I learned to preface mail with junk, but unfortunately once it’s on you can’t turn off the spigot.
