One could have an parabola line show up or a near flatline.. (latter seems better imho)

Just being able to spot the sweet spot in responsetimes vs how busy the app is (usually the app in front of the db does have some influence in the actual number queries run and thus load ;))

In other words: all graphs only simplify the reality and thus need to be taken in with a grain of salt and in context. A graph on itself is just a pretty picture ;) but combining those graphs with other data (and other graphs) does give a better overall picture of where the bottleneck on a service level lies (or at least should provide good indications)
